What color are you planning on doing? My advice is don't do black, it never really looks that good, a black rim needs a lip or something. But gunmetal looks decent on the 8.

ya.. see, the issue with that is your tires are black. you have nothing to separate the two. There is a guy on here who did that and painted his hood and roof and all that... looks like crap. I would seriously reconsider painting them black, it needs something else, some sort of lip or accents, anything.

I'm VERY partial to black chrome, but I also like dark gray wheels kind of like the Mazdaspeed Miata had. I agree that just straight black wheels are a little bit hard to get right.

black chrome

If you must paint your wheels, I would go with a gunmetal color. But personally, I don't think painted wheels ever turn out right, either go with powdercoat or buy wheels that are already the color you want.

Ok here are some more pics to help you decide.... just in case you decide to go for Graphite grey. I did get it from Advance Auto/ Autozone. It is fairly easy to do. Make sure you sand and prime it well and sanding between coats helps to get a smooth finish. And finally clear coat. Also, if you decide to paint ...please don't leave the center caps unpainted it looks unfinished and get some aftermarket lug nuts to go with the color scheme. I used Muteki lugs and masked the Mazda symbol and painted the rest. I am quiet happy with the results and its been few months now and it looks like the day I painted them. Get this http://www.unitedmfrs.com/cart/detail.cfm?item=3322 very helpful to paint using the spray cans.

I just got my rim paint from autozone. It wasn't that hard to do just get a primer, the color wheel paint you want and a clear coat. There are directions online if you look up the wheel paint on autozone's website I think. Yeah and my wheels and srinivasadi's wheels are the same color we used the same paint from autozone im pretty sure.
