Anybody know what it would take to convert my 8 to right hand drive? Kit available? Legalities?

This is random. That seems expensive nonetheless.

It would probably be much cheaper to import one.

It is much cheaper to import, but the labour is really what would kill you. I imagine you could source a wrecked one and do the work, but why?

If you were to do a conversion, are you going to go legit and swap to a 5-spd?

^i doubt he is going to do a conversion. The price of doing a conversion is almost the same price as doing a Three Rotor Swap.

Being an enthusiast doesn't encompass doing things for the sake of doing them. The amount of fabrication and work that would be required to convert your RX8 to a right hand drive vehicle would be quite extensive considering there would be zero performance benefit. The only gain would be saying you have a RHD car.

There is a problem with that though...

The process of conversion would require the alteration of various safety equipment which means if you were ever involved in an accident on the street it's very likely that you would be denied any insurance compensation the moment the company found out that the vehicle had been tampered with in such a manner.

You would honestly be better off buying a RHD RX8 and having it imported than doing a conversion on your own RX8.

Quite a lot of risk, time and money for what could only be done for the purpose of bragging rights that your RHD.

So, that's why people are asking "why".

Dont worry about why. I would import one, however I thought that it was imposible to make them street legal in the States.

so basically you just want a bragging rights for having rhd. It would make more sense to have bragging rights for a FI renesis
