Reprogram MILE -> KM

Is that something the dealer can do easily?

there are two black rods sticking out to either side of the center display. one switches between trip odometers and resets them the other switches between km and miles

Yep, you just have to press the left-hand button for a couple of seconds.

This and many other interesting an informative things can be learned by having a read through the owners manual. There is a reason why yhey give you one!

Well isn't it about time the USA stepped out of the 19th century & took up the metric system like the rest of the world.

Judging by the amount of manufacturers doing KM+MI on the speedo, you can tell that they are trying to warm the public up to updating too.
