Repairing a keying/scratching

Well it was bound to happen with all of the idiots in this city, but I came out of the movies last night only to find this horrendous 1" scratch on the front of my baby. It looks like someone took a key/rock to it.

I've heard bad stories about touch-up paint, but I have to get this repaired as soon as possible. I see it everytime I look at the car. It just makes me furious.

Any recommendations for getting it repaired?

You could try www.langka.com products. I've fixed rock chips just fine; however, it doesn't work too well on dark metallics...

Why? Why do people do this ****?! They should be keyed, after all scars can heal just like a car can be repainted

doesnt look bad at all. a good touch up and wet sanding will work but if youve never done that before (which i assume you havent) id take it to a professional. its not worth getting the whole hood repainted (or if the new paint doesnt match perfectly itll look ugly and youll have t get the WHOLE car repainted to match).

if it clips the nail when you run your nail over it then that means its scratched down to the primer or lower. if you can really feel it with your nail then it can be removed by a swirl remover like Meguiars Scratch X by hand.

Sorry this happend no wonder you were out to burn me when I posted that Korean Missile launch... The paint you can get from the dealer can help, but this sounds like a it- will- cost- money job!

Had my car to Cayukus for fireworks - rather worried to leave it as there was a crowd of thrashers there but got back car untouched and the kids just wanted to ask questions about it.... I love the people here, and even the fire department in San Miguel sells fireworks!

touch up paint will make it look even worst because it turns it into a chunk of paint if you dont wetsand it. and if you dont know how to wet sand it properly you pretty much screwed yourself big time.
