RePaint

Hey guys, i'm thinking of repainting my RX8 R3 from Aurora Blue Mica to Brilliant Black in texas. Where would be the best place to do it professionally, and what would be the estimated cost? Also would i need to pre order the paint # from mazda?

I don't really have an answer for your question, but are you sure you want to do this?

You will lower the value of your car, even if you spend a lot to get the job done totally right. BB is a very common color for an 8, while Aurora Blue is rare and very desirable. AFAIK Aurora Blue is only available on the R3.

Your way better off finding a black r3 for sale and selling your car, then your are repainting yours.

a Quality re-paint will cost at LEAST 7K+

Do you want that? I don't think so.

you better off just trade your car in, get a new one in black, in the end its probably cheaper and last longer than any re-paint job.

Hey,
first off the car painter should have the color codes available so there is no need to order the paint from Mazda themselves. Repainting your car to another Mazda rx8 isn't the way to go as marklar above me said its more common and will decrease in value, there's a million different black combinations you can get with different pearls etc why not go aftermarket? maybe a Maserati color or something completely custom?

If your car is already paid off (with pink slip), then just trade it in with a brilliant black color. This is your best option, rather than re-painting it and it will cost you large sum of money.
