Reflections on 8 ownership

Bought my 8 new a year ago Sunday and I was reflecting on it during my drive in, and I don’t feel like working so here goes;

High – daylong drives with my wife and two boys, without a single comfort complaint
Low – the crumbs left behind from all the snacking
High – my 9 year old insisting that I drop him at school in front of everybody!

Low – being reminded by motorcycling buddies about all the other bikes I could have bought with what I spent on a “cage” (biker speak for car)
High – watching them drool over the 8 when I took it to the local hangout

Low – seeing the 8 getting ignored by muscle car owners at the local Thursday show and shine
High – talking to them about their $80000 Mopars and realizing I knew more about their cars than they did

Low – poker buddies boasting that their cars were way more powerful than mine
High – on the way to golf, having to wait for two on them to catch up on some country roads
Low – having them kick my *** in golf…stupid game

Low – not getting a chance to track it this year or even solo 2 it
High – looking forward to driving it everyday

High – getting much attention from da laaadies
Low – realizing it’s the car that they like
Low – realizing I’m too old and too married

High – an engine that loves to be thrashed and revved hard like no other
Low – 19-20mpg average

High – having no real problems with it (a taillight and foglight replaced, a rattle that just went away)
High – having no dings or scratches...yet
Low – reading about this recall crap

In all, still the most intuitive and satisfying drive that I know of.

I feel ya brother. I have been stopped in parking lots by wemon. But, like you, too old, too married. Oh, and too much belly.

I do love my car also. It is the best part of my day. I have a 53 mile commute and I take all back, country roads (aka. very curvy). I have never had a car that was so much fun yet sooooo smooth.

My car turns 1 year old this sunday and I can definitely agree with a lot of what you've written.

Now the question is: What did you get your car for its B-day???

Ahh, tint is always a great gift for any car. What % did you get?

I don't know what to get my baby for her B-day. I've got something BIG planned for SS9 but there's no way I can have that done by Sunday.

Hmm, maybe a beauty treatment on Sunday will do:
-hand wash
-3 fresh coats of Zaino
Think that'll work? It's like sending your wife to the day spa only for a car, right??
