oh ok lets take the measly 159 ft/lbs away that our cars have and then see how they perform.

F1 has around 900hp and 600lbs torque, I wouldn't say 600lbs is no torque especially consider the car only weighs around 1500lbs.

BTW air bags are very heavy as well and the stock car has them in the seats.

sorry to nitpick, but nitrogen vs. air can't make that much difference... really? (air is 79% nitrogen.) must be a psychological thing... how about helium then? probably hard to keep tire pressure...

Rodmeister,

Those are some excellent suggestions I don't know why I didn't think of them myself. I imagine that if we took out the entire exhaust sytem (cats and all) we could save some pretty serious weight. If we removed the battery all together and push-start the car we can save weight there. And think about all the girls we would meet when we asked them to help us push our cars to get them started.... Could be an added bonus of saving weight I never considered.

Don't forget though that any girls you meet will need their own rides since that would seriously compromise your weight savings.
