Recaro seat
If I'm posting in the wrong place, I'm sorry. If this has been covered, I'm sorry, but I wasn't able to find anything on it. I'm new to the forums, so have mercy.
Zipped around a corner this afternoon and got clunked in the shoulder with one of the plastic inserts from my seat (2009 R3 Recaro). One of the clips that connected the front and back sections together broke, and it won't stay together. Anyone know where in the world I could find a replacement insert? My first thought was to go the adhesive route, but there's so much tension between the 2 pieces that I doubt it would hold up. Any thoughts? :-/

ok, I know I am stealing your thread a bit with a COMPLETELY RANDOM AND UNRELATED question, but I just REALLY have to know...
For those who are 5'9", and 32 waist man, please let me know...does the R3 Recaro seat hurt your hip when you drive?? Does it feel uncomfortable, and too tight?
Again...SOOOOOO sorry for jacking this thread...in any case, I would not know the answer to your question...sorry! ...
I hope you will find a way to fix it!
Cheers!!

mazda has a recall on that. just bring it to the dealer and they will replace it.
and Sato, go sit in one see if you like it. its not the most comfortable seat due to lack of lower back support.

I test drove the GT model today, and the regular seats are reallyyy comfy, and made me wonder how the Recaro seats would feel while driving the car.

After that, about a month later, the passenger side's plastic inserts came out when a rear seat passenger thought he needed to put the seat down to get in, and allowed the seat back to slam forwards.
Went to the same Mazda dealership and got those ones replaced under warranty.
I was told that each piece is 50 bucks, so basically, it will cost you 200 bucks out-of-pocket to replace them completely per seat (four pieces per seat: front-left, front-right, back-right, back-left).

They are pretty sweet seats. They are basically identical to the ones in the Evo. I'm 6' and 33-34" (depends on before or after supper and I find them to be snug but that's the way it should be. I actually looked into it and you can get an office chair from Recaro in the same style. I just don't have $1000 to blow on a chair.

$80.89-How much I just paid for a new plastic insert + shipping. That's for the front half ALONE. But I felt like I just couldn't go on living unless I bought the stupid thing.

The dealership told me that it wasn't covered. I went through all of my own warranty paperwork at home in case they made a mistake, but everything that I have is engine-related. I also looked through a list of Mazda recalled parts that I found online, and it wasn't listed.

EDIT: It wasn't about being under recall, either. My car was still under factory warranty being a 2009, and they honored that.

Also, I'm 6'3" 34 Waist and I find the Recaro Seats snug but comfortable. They're designed to be that way though, I love them! Wish I had them

Are you within the 3yr/36,000 Mile Bumper to Bumper Warranty? If you are that definitely has to be covered. If not, I don't think there's actually a recall on them, I can't find one anyway. So no it wouldn't be covered. Also you could have gotten them cheaper...http://onlinemazdaparts.com/parts/20...agramCallOut=4

It'll be ok though. I'll remember that if/when another one breaks on me!

Voids warranties
Let say hypothetically someone installed a 5 point harness in the car and that caused the plastic insert to break. Provided the car is still under warranty, will they cover it?
