Recalls

I apologize if this was covered somewhere else (I'm sure it has but I waded through a few topics and couldn't find what I was looking for). I am bringing in my 8 to the dealer to get the M-flash, and am wondering how many recalls exactly has been issued for the 8. Should I just tell them to go to town and update the car completely? Does anyone have a list, which I can use to specifically request them to do? Thanks guys

There were only two recalls, that only apply to a limited number of cars. One is for the passenger airbag wiring, and the other is for a transmission shield/damper than could come loose. They'll be able to tell you if your car needs the recall work done.

There have been other service bulletins (see link in the above posting) that may apply to your car. But, these aren't "recalls".

Is having a car with a recall bad? I got the showroom RX-8 it had a recall, and now I find out that my Navigation is crap and is not working right. Yet the dealer refuses to look seriously into the nav problem. I just hope there is not more recalls on these cars as mine is the air-bag recall.

Perfect...just what I needed. On another note the bulletins state that the dealers should update their inventory for the recalls, however I wonder why they did not...

they were either being lazy or were waiting for the part. eithr way letting you drive it off the lot not have the recall done is really bad form and possibly illegal.
