I bought a used 2004 RX-8, certified used-Mazda, and on the inside of the drivers door it had a Certified Mazda sticker that said: Certified Modifications, which had the 4206F recall written on it. It should already have been completed, but go to the service department with recalls and TSB's in hand. Print them out here:

When I moved from Texas, I asked my dealer for a copy of all my service information so I could take it with me to my new dealer in NC. They gave me over 100 pages of documents showing every last thing that was done, from PCM flashes to oil changes. On the first page, it showed all the warranty work involved including all the recall information that had been done. See if your dealer has anything like that for your 8.

You can bet that they were. Were they not, it would have been largely easy money for them to do it, make you happy and try to get your service work in the future.

My dealer keeps calling and saying there is a new recall (actually they say two recalls) one of them involves the gas cap.

But I have not received any letters from Mazda or seen any new ones on the websites

anybody know anything about this?

there was a TSB, calling for newer 06 model's gas cap.

Gas cap recall is MSP13. The info is posted on this site - in the sticky thread that lists all the recalls.

I don't think I've gotten letters from Mazda about either that or 4206F, but my dealer sent me postcards on both. The dealers get recall info on the cars they sell. Getting a call from them is every bit as good as a letter from MNAO. Probably better.

The dealers have access to a database of all the cars, and what recalls have been done. If you take your car to a dealer for any kind of service, they should routinely look up the recall status.
