I had the 4026F recall done fall of 06 pretty much just after I recieved the letter. I need to go in to have my tail lights fixed now for the condensation issue, so I'm going to the dealer anyways. My question is if I should ask them to check flash version/update it because when I had the recall done, the receipt had no mention of the flash.

My reason for asking this is because not too long ago I saw a scan of someone's receipt and they had the flash service shown. I know this could be just different computer systems or they could have just forgotten to have it on the reciept, but I've been having slow starts recently which was an issue that was supposed to be fixed by the recall. It's only 1 out of 3 times that it's slow to start, but still got me wondering.

The dealer I had the recall done at is not my normal dealer so I cant say whether or not they have good service. Should I ask the dealer to check the flash? Should I also worry about the rest of the recall being done? Thanks for responses.

 

I wouldn't worry about it, its in the dealer's best intrest to preform the recall, they get paid for it!

If it makes you feel better though, there is no harm in asking!

 

Ask them. There might be the chance that they did not re-flash the ECU.
When I had mine done, eveything is detailed on the bill.

If they didn't re-flash, you should get the re-flash.

 

a new version came out already, I forgot the version number but its the one after the Recall.

Make sure they reflash yours to the newest one ... unless you have RB flash like me

whats the newest flash maybe anyone should go to their local mechanic and gte a scanner hooked up would it show the exact number ???
