Rear bumper not attached properly

I'm not sure if I'm describing this right, but i'll show a few pictures so you get my meaning. I noticed this thursday that my left rear bumper doesnt appear to be attached completely. There is a small gap between the bottom section of the bumper (the dark colored part around the exhaust) and the part it attaches to.

Has anyone removed this section and if so, how do I fix it?

And yes, the car is incredibly dirty right now. I just got back from a 700 mile road trip and it's been raining here so it wont be getting cleaned today.

Your photos a bit too “close-up” but to me that looks like the plastic trim around the tale pipes. They are held in by couple of plastic tabs and plastic pop-up clips. I very easily removed that trim to install exhaust finishers. This link about installing the finishers and shows that piece of trim. http://www.mazdatrix.com/faqrx8/exhfinish.htm . I would check to see if you lost any clips then just pop it back in place or glue the trim to the car.

Actually, that link helped me fix it. I didnt realize that the back end was 3 pieces like that and i was pushing up instead of forward. I gave it a good push forward and it popped back in.

LOL! I knew someone would ask that.

I cleaned the exhaust tips right after I got home. I figured rain wouldnt hurt them at all but washing the rest of the car in this weather would be a bitch..
