Rattle in my steering wheel

Does anyone here have a slight rattle in their steering wheel just loud enough to be an annoiance? Its not so bad on smooth roads, but on roads with average textures its maddening! Do you think mazda will fix this under their warrenty?

Yeah. I haven't taken mine in, but I think there's a TSB for it.

Let us know what they say, I'm am taking mine in for service on Oct 4th (and the recall testing) and this is on my list. Pretty sure there was an old TSB for it, something about airbags and fasteners not being tight? cant imagine it would be that big of a deal

Tsb

I have brought my 8 in for that TSB twice now (amongst others) and they haven't ben able to do ANYTHING about it. It's really annoying and is driving me crazy. If ANYONE has come up with a solution, please help!

Mine rattles too, funny how you get in a habit of resting your thumb on the horn. I read the TSB earlier and thought it was only 2004 models that had the problem. Im a little nervous about having the work done, since they might make it worse.

I had that rattle. On the latest servicing, they fixed it.

I also had the rattle and my VIN was included in the TSB. The dealer fixed it.

I've got a 2004 and mine rattles, too. I plan on having it looked at when I schedule my recall appointment.

Mine was 'fixed' and now the rattle is back...I ended up jamming a piece of 3/8" or 1/4" (forgot which) fuel line in the crack between the wheel and the neck of the wheel. Took away 98%.

Does anyone have the instruction for removing the steering wheel cover/horn/airbag? I want to eliminate the rattle but my car is not included in the tsb.

I followed the tsb and fixed mine myself. Doubled up the little felt circles that are used for when you cover furniture with a piece of glass. Did it a year ago and hasn't returned yet.

Does anyone have this TSB? I have this problem and am going crazy. Sorry for digging the thread up from the dead. Also, where would one wedge a damping material to make it go away?
