Rabbit killed my R3's Front end

Guys..

I hit a rabbit last night and upon a daylight inspection found that while my front bumper is fine, the black plastic spoiler and plastic undertray have been totalled.

Anyone know where i can get these parts? As its pretty simple to fix, but cant find any parts for sale online?

Any help greatly appreciated!

Hmmm, i thought the new rx8's had a metal undertray? Guess i was wrong.

You can get the parts probably from one of the vendors here, mainly mazmart or mazdaparts.

Sorry to hear that Ross. I flattened a small rabbit myself this morning during my pre-dawn backroad commute. I felt bad but I really did try hard to avoid. If it had just stayed put it would have been fine but it last second suddenly reversed direction back in front of my front tire. He was no match for my 265x35.

I guess that's why they multiply like... well ... rabbits.

Google: Mazda genuine parts or Mazda OEM parts. Lots of stealthy Mazda dealers selling discount parts.

i got a replacement for the front spoiler(think that's what it is called -- been a while) on my 04 at onlinemazdaparts a couple years ago. Their online parts catalog made it fairly painfree to locate the exact part that I needed. The illustrations spell out what you're ordering.

dude the same thing has happened to me. i ran over a cat and destroyed my under plastics too...i went to mazda to see how much it would be to get fixed and they will probably say around $460. I am probably going to buy the parts from somewhere else and install it myself. the only thing i do not like is that you have to remove the front bumper to install the under plastics

Almost all cars engine under covers are plastic. Other then some trucks I can't think of one modern day one that isn't.

Erm... is it too much a problem to have insurance pick up the tab on this? I've hit debris and had my whole bumper replaced twice under insurance; never really saw an increase in my rates. Local shop took care of everything.

^Depends on most people's deductibles. Most are lucky enough to have $0-$50 deductibles like myself and some others.

pics or it never happened

On the bright side maybe you can use this opportunity to buy the 04 - 08 front bumper instead of having to go around with that hideous Saturn-looking bumper
