Quick queston about CEL

Hi gusy i'm new to this rx8 forum and as a new owner of an 04 auto rx8. i've done some searching an even talked to a tech but wasn't satisfied by the answer he gave so now i ask you guys. I bought the car with 67K miles and it runs great except for a few days ago the CEL started to flash for about 5 seconds then went off, I pulled diagnostic code and came up with a Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire. Not knowing hte status of the last tune up and reading of the carbon build up, i bought new plugs and had them changed. And yet again today when i left the house it happened again. And this isn"t under real hard acceleration, just moderate. Any ideas? The tech claims i might have water in the fuel and that caused the misfire and since the light didn't stay on it was nothing major. I'd usally agree but not within a few days of each other, especially after a plug change. Any chance its might be the wires or coils? Thanks for any input. Also the service manager at the local dealership says anytime a CEL flashes i need to shut it down and have it towed to the nearest dealership.

Yes it could be coils or wires and they probably are both due. Its a good place to start. Show us the spark plugs if you can.

i don't have the old ones anymore but they looked good. assuming they look like ones out of a piston engine. I am the manger of an Advance Auto and they looked normal actually like they didn't need to be changed. I was just curious a s to why this is only happening on occasion?

Mazda has a newer coil out now and you can get four and the wires for about a hundred and sixty or so. I bought them from vendors on here.
