quick question guys need advice
So today I was adding oil to my car, and like always I check all the others to see if they are topped off. I noticed a green build up around one of the hoses. Does anybody know what this is? If so what is the cause of it? And whatcan I do to get rid of it?

Green like the Statue of Liberty?
It could also be corrosion on a pipe... but I dont know how much bronze there is under the hood of an 8 (it corrodes bluish green - especially around salt water. Furthermore, do you live around saltwater?

My computers is not allowing me to sign on the site so I'm not available to upload a pic, but its not only on the hose . If it is eaither of the two, how can I remove it?

More important than removing it is preventing it. If it's coolant, then you would have a leak that needs to be repaired. Since you said hose and not tube, line, or wire then I would assume that corrosion is out?

Ok so I checked it and it seems like if there's no leak, but its hard to tell since the stains are already there. My question is how can I wash it off to pay attention to it if its an actual leak?

A shop would use a dye in the coolant and a light to see it glow. Might check autozone and see if there is a do it yourself version of that.

I would start to check the hoses were you see the green stuff , you can wipe it off run it and check if the green stuff is on the same hose then it might just be a bad hose/ bad hose clamp or loose hose clamp lol just a friendly tip

I tried wiping it but its stuck pretty good. My computers been acting dum so I'm unable to post the pics. But that's what I'm trying to do get it off there so that I can see if its actually leaking

Try to brush it off with some kind of small steel brush or steel wool. If you find an area that polishes down to a copper color, you've found the source - it is oxidized brass. It's usually called "verdigris" and wont hurt anything - it will actually protect the pipe from worse forms of corrosion. Just something to think about. If you rule it out, you rule it out.
