Unless you have a Shinka... i have drove mine and a friends grand touring, both stock, back to back on 140mph runs. :scared: the gt, and i assume the rest, models start feeling the speeda bit around 110-120. My car is noticably smoother up till about 130-135. my buddy and i were assuming that this has something to do with the extra foam.filler or whatever it is in crossmembers and such, that the shinka's have

If the discussion is RX8 vs Guts...

RX8 > Guts.

I've taken mine to 135. It was still pulling, felt great, and I wasnt worried one drop about the car. The car loved it.

It was my guts. The guts knowing that the slightest pebble in the road would cost me my life. The slightest imbalence in the tires due to some 18-year old mechanic's ignorance would mean I'm a dead man. Any fluid having any kind of issues (brake fluid, oil, gas) would mean the car would die - and I would follow. A smallest "mis-shift", a bird hitting my windshield, anything - and I'd be a gonner.

Your Rx8 is rock solid. Its all the other variables you just dont know about.

I got the interesting experience to see 145 on the 8...of course the actual speed is a little lower but that was what it indicated!

+1 I've gottn mine to just over 140mph and things really start to happen quickly and you need a lot of room.

BTW.................Speeding is illegal at Bushwood sir.................and I never speed.............damn it, I did it again! :Eyecrazy:

wow, that thing musta been rattling like a...mustang :cwm27:

lol, seriously man, according to the offset deficit that the speedo reads, that had to be close to 140. Aside from being stupid fast, did it feel steady at all?

I know when i drove the GTO up to 120, I felt SOOO much less stable...like any movement at all was gonna have me flippin nascar-style.

It's the obvious answer but it fealt floatier than at lower speeds. I concentrated on keeping both hands on the wheel. Not to start any controversy but I have had an Evo at just a little under that (indicated 140) and it was still pretty stable (this is just a general statement for comparison sake before anybody gets on the Evo hating kick). My '88 RX-7 fealt less stable than the 8 at 125 (for obvious reasons). I will say there are some other cars I've driven that fealt less stable at 110 than the 8 does at 130! I didn't notice a lot of rattling but it was a lot of wind noise!
