Questions about midpipe.

Just wondering what kind of gains my buddy with the rx8 is looking at with his borla catback exhaust if he adds a custom midpipe made with a single resonator. (3 inch midpipe)

Also which one would be better a single or dual resonated midpipe?

well dual resonated should be quieter than single with probably about a 10whp gain.

First thing to realize is there no high horsepower gains from a "bolt-on" mod. Such as exhaust and midpipe. I mean a midpipe and catback can add maybe 25hp atmost.

Straight pipe is the most hp gain theoretically then single resonated then dual.

I was talking with a local rotary shop and the guy said all the rotaries need is a little back pressure in the midpipe and then straight pipe is best hp gain.

Sucks how illegal straight pipes are in Cali. Oh well, I still want one. What's the best way to go about getting a good one?

I'm probably getting a custom, catless midpipe done by a local performance shop tomorrow. What's the best hp gain, non, single or dual resonated?

That's my 09 with an unresonated RB pipe and stock catback.

Peaks at about 70 db.
