There are many Cat backs on the market for the 8. But, you'll be lucky to see any more then 4-5hp from any of them, unless you go with a mid pipe.

Use the search functions to locate all the info you desire

Please use the search, there are a million threads on exhausts. That should be a clue.....you need an exhaust system, and you won't see any real HP gains from it however.

Damnit Pico...........we was typin' at the same time!

There was post in a thread just today that had sound clips of a pretty good chunk of the exhausts available.

I dont even think what your trying to do is possible. You cant just cut out the oem muffler and weld that one on. You would need to get some exhaust tubing bent/shaped for you so you could go single exit and at that point you shouldve just bought a whole exhaust.

I am basing this off looking at https://www.rx8club.com/mw-sale-wanted-142/fs-rx8-oem-exhaust-172296/ I just dont see how you could just swap it in. Just wait til you have enough money to buy an exhaust and do it properly rather than trying to go the cheap way.

You'll most likely be wasting your money going that route. Besides at over $200 per muffler, a catback would be cheaper after labor and piping is counted in. I won't even go into size and longevity. Even if you only went with a single sided exhaust. I picked up my HKS hi-Power for 225 shipped in the for sale section here.
