Cool Question for Mazdamaniac

Hey Jeff I just received my accessport from you for the 2004 JDM hi-power model and i tried to install it but my vehicle could not be identified by it. So i followed your instructions and performed a 'ROM dump'..which is saving the ECU data to the accessport i believe ....correct me if I'm wrong because I'm new to all of this. Well anyway this was done successfully and i saved it to my computer and i am waiting till the next appointed custom calibration day to send it to you. I sent an invite to you from my gmail account ( duanerdyer1@gmail.com ) but the accessport was purchased from on my bro's account ( gregrdyer@gmail.com ) I just wanna know:

1. If this will be a problem with the different gmail accounts?

2. If i am proceeding correctly?

Thanks.

You got lucky that I noticed the thread. You should send stuff like this directly to ap @ mazdamaniac.com, not here.

That said, what did it identify your car as? If it didn't identify it, then it is NOT a 2004 JDM model.

Cool

Well the accessport showed that the vehicle was unsupported, and it is a 2004 RX 8....and it was imported from Japan. So what should i do?

All rx-8's were built in Japan I believe. At least the USA ones are. A jdm would be a right hand drive.

Cool

Yes it is a right hand drive manufactured in 2004....6fwd m/t hi-power...6 port..RX8..I don't know why the accessport isn't recognizing my vehicle....it keeps saying that the vehicle is not supported by this version of the accessport...i just received it the day before yesterday and was really looking forward to installing it. I hope that something can be done to make it work.
