Ok, I took my car to get the recall, flash thingy, first oil change etc. And the techn noted I had no engine cover. I could have sworn it had one the day I bought it. I had it in the body shop and I called them and they do not have it. He said if ALL Mazda RX8's come with engine covers from the factory he will order me one for free. He said his tech said that it didn't have one when it came in.

Or maybe I am just a crazy lady, and mine never had one.

I have the appearance package, spoiler, all the upgrades, I thought it came with it.

As far as I know the engine cover is a standard feature. Tell them to give you one!

I have one hanging up in my garage as "artwork" Personally I just leave mine off since I'm checking the oil every 1000 miles.

To answer your question - yes it is standard on every RX8. However you don't need it.

Yeah and there not cheap either. I would ask them to buy me a new one. It's not the kinda thing you would loose somewhere. You definitely have to take it off.

Looks like they're being reasonable, but just make sure they stay that way! Don't let them screw you over. But yes, it comes standard.

Thanks, I emailed them a photo of one standard with the cover. I like that it says Renesis, and I like it covered. I asked them to order me one. Thanks,
