Question on choosing an Rx-8 Please???

SOrry im a newbie at RX-8 so dont flame
Ok, i've seen couple of the RX-8, is there any model difference? Or are they all the same model with same engine, same body type etc...? exe: Honda Civic comes in LX, DX, EX and SI and obviously SI is the top model. Does this goes the same with the RX-8?

Can someone please tell me the difference between all the RX-8?

I want to know all these information before I buy my RX-8. Thank You

You'd be better off reading Mazda's website, because yes there are Rx-8 base models, Sport, Touring, and GT packages.

This isn't a Honda Civic. All RX-8s are the top model.

The biggest difference is whether it's automatic or manual transmission. After that, it's a matter of what accessory and trim package you get. There are combinations of sound system, upholstery, sun roof, nav, etc. If you go to Mazda's web site, they list all the packages.

But they don't hang a status label or Cruiserline Ventaports on the outside, like other brands do to impress the neighbors.

I've seen the RX-8 that are selling with the sport packages and they are the one that looks the nicest plus they have a spoiler. What do ya think ?

I don't really care for wings on cars. You just need to look at a modern WoO winged sprinter next to a USAC sprinter from the mid-60s to make that judgement.

But if you like wings, that's available as separate accessory and you can get it on any trim level. It might be bundled with of some of the trim packages.

IMHO, the best visual feature of the RX-8 is the view out the windshield from the driver's seat.

if you have to ask, you don't want an Rx-8. That's what we tell people looking at Rx-7s. You have to respect the fact that it's rotary powered, do the brake in proplery, and stay on top of your oil levels, expect not-so-great gas mileage and know that you won't be the fastest thing out there. And if you're like anyone else here, you wouldn't have it any other way.

everyone is right in saying check out mazda's site. the spoiler has nothing to do with the trim level (Sport). it is an option on all. the short version is that sport takes base level and adds sports tuned suspension and larger brakes; touring adds sport + sunroof, DSC traction control, bose sound, larger wheels; grand touring is all + leather and heated mirrors. may have missed some options but they are just trim levels. none give increased horsepower though.

to keep yourself from getting flamed, check out the mazda site and then ask any questions that aren't already there.

base: lightest (this matters to some), very little in the way of gadgets.
sport: best bang for the buck. still light, no sunroof or leather seats, get the headlights, radio, and bigger wheels and brakes (on ATs)
touring: sport + sunroof
grand touring: touring + leather, heated, power seats (these seats add about 50lbs to the car, again some people care about this)

other than that mazdausa.com breaks it down in more detail.

well, sorry if to get everyone confuse here, but what I was asking about was the engine wise, I dont really care about the wing but the engine. SO all the rx-8 comes with the same engine, also what about the models, is there only one type of model or 4 different type> I dont like sourcing through the Mazda website, to much to look for and most of the time I dont care about half of the stuff so I prefer it from forums, specific topics only!! I dont want to custom myself an rx-8 from the site, thats retarded and 10x more money, something where I can get locally and have the package and look I want. Hit me up guys

You've already been told there's just one model.

IMHO, you should buy a Chevy Aveo, and use the rest of your money to take classes in reading and manners.

autos and manuals have different HP.

You have 3 trim levels to choose from.

please do the rest yourself.

^LOL!

The MT has more horsepower than the AT, and that's basically the only difference. There aren't different engine options or different "looks" for the different models. There are just different accessory packages, which would include things like spoiler and appearance packages, as well as the different trim levels available.

What specifically is it that you are wondering about that you aren't getting answered that you wanted to know?

I was driving to my mazda dealer to have my recall work done, and was behind a mustang GT. I love the fact that we dont have our "package" editions stamped on our ***. i know this is off topic, just wanted to share my 8 cents

Let me get this straight, you're trying to find a car. and you're too lazy to look for the information yourself. Yes you're too lazy to do so.

I have a recommendation for you.

http://www.chevrolet.com/aveo/

why do I recommend the above? because 8 is not a average joe car, it requires alot of special attention, and its not for people whos lazy like you that dont even bother to search information of his/her future car.

Yet by replying to it, you proliferate the existence of it. Your acknowledgement that it does exists makes its existence true, where as if you ignored it, it would have existed, but in an infinite amount of stages, posts, replies, and topics. Read quantum theory to avoid making this mistake in the future.
