question of changing the remote control

hey''i have a 2004 rx8, just wanted to know if i can change the old remote into the new model(05-07) remote key lock?..please advice, thanks

Yes, it will work. I've got an 04 with the switchblade key

i doubt it is SmartCard-able found in the 06/07 rx8

I have a 2008 40th anniversary rx8..im not to fond of the smartcard.....is there anyway i can change to a
key fob.. With all the benefits of smart card...
