Question about Clutch Pedal

Dear RX8 drivers, I need your help!
I drive 07 RX8 and my clutch pedal started making squeaking noise
every time I press it.
Is it a sign for replacement?

Thank you,

Thank you,
mazda will replace but its gonna also fail too. you can spend money on a bracket but the best thing to do is take it out and weld the bracket

there was a recall but seriously safest/easiset/best bet is take it out and weld it. of you dont have a welder take it to someone who does before it breaks.

Not a recall, just an extension of the warranty to cover it for 8yrs 100,000 miles. The OP might still be within that range, although a re-welding is superior to a new factory one that will still fail the same way.

Thank you for your reply.
I do not know anyone who I know can weld the clutch pedal.
I assume I can just take it to a local auto shop for it?
If you did it at an auto shop, may I ask you how much it cost you?

Thank you,

You can buy the reinforcement bracket from rotary fx for pretty cheap and have a mechanic install it. It voids the warranty but should solve your problem.

But yeah unfortunately it probably is going to break.

im telling you the best thing to do is get it welded before it snaps. it will cost much less than any complicated bracket

Look at the bracket yourself, mine squeaks but it is just the spring. Your spring might be doing the same and your bracket could be just fine. If you don't have time to dismantle things down there and get it welded then checking to make sure that is the problem is a good idea. I agree it is a good idea to get it welded for the future though.

Clutch bracket

My clutch bracket broke on my 2007 MT.After reading several posts about this-especially about them breaking at the spot welds,I was surprised to find that the metal broke around the spot weld while the weld held. Its baffling to me how CHEAP and thin this metal is.I am not hard on the car at all and still have the original clutch with 118 k on it.I know Mazda had an extended warranty to 8k/100000 mi but how this is not a manufacturing defect is beyond me.Anyone?

Sure it's a defect.
Short of a lawsuit, we can't do anything about it.
If there were hundreds of thousands of cars affected, maybe it would've been handled by now by some class action suit from a law firm that thought it was worth it.
I just replaced mine a few months ago.with a little over 80k miles on it.

Don’t feel bad; while many car owners can change a tire and some can change their own oil, precious few have either the equipment or knowledge to “weld their clutch pedal”. Welding is hardly a typical car owner ability, lol.

Me? I would take it to my Mazda dealer and get an estimate, or I’d purchase this well-regarded aftermarket replacement and have a mechanic install:
