Does anyone know if there is an rx-8 type-s special edition.(not shinka)
this person in cyprus says he imported one from japn but i have never heard of it .

there are 2 new special editions coming out for the rx8....on the 2006 rx8 platform, maby he got one of those...ask him what the color is, that will tell you right away what it is, as mazda likes to make their special editions in 1 color only.

 

he bought his car in 2003 .its yellow( i think its just a high preformance type-s )

 

Yellow was only offered the first year of production, so in that way it is a 'limited edition' color. but he doesnt have anything that a normal high-performance typeS has.

The only 'special editon' RX8s mazda has made so far come in these colors :

Mazdaspeed RX8 Ver.1 : Silver
Mazdaspeed RX8 Ver.2 : Blue (not the bright winning blue, the darker blue (Strato blue?)
Shinka RX8 : Black Cherry

It looks like the type S is the 6 speed manual transmission.
