This weekend my car threw a CEL, what is puzzling is why it did it. What happened is while I was auto crossing the rear got a bit loose into a corner, ended up slipping out I corrected then it came back around. I ended up facing it opposite way I was going. Well engine had died because I didn’t take it out of gear (more concerned with not hitting other drivers and getting my car under control, thankfully I didn’t hit anything). Tried to restart car it didn’t turn over tried again turned right on and pop CEL. I idle for a minute and nothing seems to be wrong check all fluids, belts, tires can’t find anything wrong not leaking anything. Only thing I can think of why it would throw a CEL is the fact that the engine was stalled but how would this be any different from stalling on a hill or the like. O well going to take it in when I got time this week.

 

It might have thought you got a ping and pings cause cels.

 

My CEL also came one once after a regular trip to the mall. Car was warmed up normaly once I got there. After I came out, went to start car, engine cranked, but no start. I tried again and engine started, and CEL came on. It went off after a few miles and never been on since.

 

CEL went off this morning so i think it had to do something with the engine not starting like yours did Dr. Rx. O well gonna take it in have them check it out and try to get the M flash and AC fixed.
