Proud New Owner Of an RX8!!!

So last week I posted a thread about RX8 or 350Z -- Well, I am now currently a new owner of an RX8!!! :)

An unfortunate event happened friday where it rained hard here in La Crosse for about 30 mins. My car was parked in the street at work and the road flooded. The water was up to my window. So, it basically trashed my ecu and motor. So, insurance gave me roughly 14k for my car -- Paid off the RSX-S w/ 10 K and downed 4K on a 2004 RX8 w/ 8,400 miles!!! Price @ 19,995 - After TTL, I paid 16,800!! :)

Don't park the 8 in the same spot.

Welcome..

And the Vikings rule!

dynamho 09-24-2007 11:35 AM

Congrats. Remember to check oil level.

Only 8,400 miles.....nice. Be sure to check and see if all the recalls and such have been performed. Welcome the madness my friend. Get ready to be broke!! (...but happy) LOL

Welcome to the club..........

talk about a happy accident.

nycgps 09-24-2007 01:15 PM

Just make sure you park somewhere *higher* than the spot where your RSX-S has received its painful death.

T_Vang 09-24-2007 03:45 PM

Hahaha... I'll be sure not to park in the street anymore, thats for sure.

I'm driving my beater accord around a lot more from here on out.

The sad part is, I don't know anything about rotary engines :banghead: But, looking to learn, so when I get to the modding mode... Be expecting to see tons of questions if searching doesn't get me the right results!

Well, my buddy is a Mazda salesman -- They got my car off of a trade in from an older guy & he didn't drive it much I guess... It's the cleanest used car I've seen thus far.

OMG, at first I thought it was your new 8 that got caught in the flood!

Congratulations, you'll love it.

Shini 09-24-2007 04:00 PM

8's have pretty good reslae value, so if it does flood again, it'll be good to know you'll get your monies worth :)

Congrats on the purchase by the way, I don't know if you've posted this but what color/package is it?

Uncivilizedracer 09-24-2007 04:16 PM

recalls man check all the recalls

T_Vang 09-24-2007 04:16 PM

Sorry, but where can I go to check recalls?

Spinning Sushi 09-24-2007 04:19 PM

Best place would be the dealership or here on our forum.

I got a black one.

Uncivilizedracer 09-24-2007 05:14 PM

i just called the service department and gave them my vin and they told me what needed to be done

Silver_Mazda09 09-24-2007 08:14 PM

Congrats on the new car! Welcome to the site! You have to go to the service sections and ask if there are any recalls on your car. pretty easy to do. I went one day and then had to make an appt. I was in and out about an hour for all my recalls. Lets see some pictures?

MrCairo 09-24-2007 08:54 PM

Congratulations and welcome. You've clearly made a great choice!

Cheers

d j 09-24-2007 09:27 PM

congrats on the new purchase and welcome

Brettus 09-24-2007 10:54 PM

FYI - a modded N/A 8 can match a stock 350z for acceleration .

machfive 09-25-2007 04:07 AM

Congratulations. You have chosen wisely. Here is some free advice. Before you ask a lot of questions, be sure to search first. A lot of people will "flame" on you if you ask before searching.

Anyway, enjoy your 8. You're gonna love it. Just make sure you redline it at least once a day.
