Proud New Owner

Hey guys, Im new here (sorta). Im 19 years old and I know us teenagers don't have the best rep with RX8s but i promise to take care of it. I've been in the car scene for as long as I can remember and now Im a second year AET student here in Minnesota. I have been working on buying an 8 for the last year and a half, and if I wasn't looking for a car online I was here reading. Last week it finally happened. Sold my truck and found the right 8. I love it. So much fun to drive, and they look soo amazing. So now that I have one I figure I finally deserve an account.

The Goods
Its an 04 Velocity red GT with the aero kit M/T with 50,000 miles
Everything is stock, but hopefully not for long
I bought the car with 3 sets of rims and tires, the oems, some TSW's, and Konig's with winter tires.

Ill get pictures of it up tomorrow hopefully after a good detail. The car acually has a wierd overspray on it but he said it was never resprayed. I already tried just a quick buff with a very light cream but it didn't do much so I have plans tomorrow to cut it and see if it can take it out (pretty sure I shouldnt have a problem). Headlights need some work too there a little cloudy but Ill have that done tomorrow too.

Congrats on the purchase. To take care of it, just read the stickies and you'll be good to go. Anyway, what kind of modifications are you planning with the car? Good luck and glad you picked a unique ride.

Im not worried about taking care of it, I know what Im doing haha. Honestly I dont know what I want with it yet. I dont think I power plant out of it, but that might change. Power sounds real nice and you gotta love FI but with this I think Im going to leave it a looker. It needs a nice drop and Id love some MB battles. I love bronze wheels. Exhaust is getting done next week, Im in the process of making a custom 3in exhaust for it. Then a tune. After that just drive it!

Awesome. Enjoy driving the living daylights out of your newly acquired 8 (on the track, of course ).

You never want to pre-mix unless you removed your OMP. But you don't want to remove that unless have gone stand alone.

I know the 09+ don't require premix but I've been getting nothing but good results from the 30K + miles I've used it on my 05. The 2 cycle oil is made to burn cleaner so it doesn't require any mods to the stock system.

Yes I do know this. I dont personaly pre-mix. Least not yet. But there has been alot of people that have, and the evidence is deffinitly there that is does reduce wear thats for sure long as you do it right and it burns right.
