I have read all sorts of different numbers for production of different 8s. Does anybody have accurate production figures for the following:

06 Shinka
08 40th Anniv Model

Thanks. Please provide a reference to confirm the number. I've heard there were 1100 08s then I heard 250. Want to know specifically.

2003 = 60100

2004 = 50813

2005 = 27837

2006 = 23463

2007 = 9,343

2008 = ?????

Any updated numbers since 2007 now that the RX8 has stopped production?

 

Only 1357 were made in the 2005 model year (though 2150 were scheduled, production never reached that amount)

Shinka returned for 2006 as a production trim package, now available in Copper Red, Galaxy Grey, and Whitewater Pearl. Only 1500 were made in 2006.

Nope...I received the full production/serial # data file for the '06 Shinkas from a Mazda rep...I asked for it...and got it. On the list #1 shows a production date of 2-1-06...#1500 shows a production date of 4-21-06.

Mine is 2-21-06, #199 Shinka Copper Mica Red, no known siblings? Springfield Mo dealership has an '06 automatic(?) Copper Red with 8100 original miles $16500.00

 

Only 1000 2008 40th Anniversary Editions were made for the U.S. market with the Metropolitan Grey Mica exterior, Cosmos red interior and special Bilstein suspension and badging. There were some white 40th Anniversary Editions made for the Japanese and European and Australian market with different interior coloring, and somewhat different content than the U.S. one, don't know how many. Maybe RX8 forum moderator and aussie Ash8 can fill in the numbers here .

 

i have a 2008 40th :-)

 

i think something like 200 40ths went to canada may have been fewer.

 

Makes me happy. I've got an 08 40th with the cosmo red interior and bilsteins

 

Hopefully that's accurate numbers. I've heard so may different ones at this point. Heard at one point only 200 of those were made and that three was also 200 40th models produced in white. Didn't think it was true
