problems ? or imagination? revised

I am a new owner of this fine vehicle but am experiencing some things
are odd .i.e. i was driving around the other day and got on it. Afterwards i noticed that my steering was no longer rigid... but loose. Before I could switch lanes just by flinching now i have to turn the wheel about 2" to make a lane change has any body experienced this or am i just imagining things

Sounds scary. I'd be afraid to drive it.

I've been driving my car for 19K miles and the steering is still very sharp with no play whatsoever. Have it checked out..

Could be that you were at different speeds (as per the 2 situations in your statement)?
Might be the speed sensitive steering. If that is not a factor then have it looked at.

I don't think you are imagining anything here. I've got a tick over 8,000 miles and my steering is still very tight and responsive. 2" and I'd be heading in the other direction. I agree with the others that say proceed with caution and have it checked out ASAP.
