Problem with my motor

I didn't know where to put this so here it is. One day I started smelling burning rubber and my engine sounded like it was chocking. Soon after it stalled(its an auto) and made a consistent ticking noise when I popped the hood to check it out. I sent it to mazda they said that a ignition coil burnt up which caused the smell also the stalling and chocking. I got that replaced and got my car back today and checked it at the dealer for the ticking noise. There was none. On the way home I started to smell the burning rubber again and when I got home the ticking noise was back!! Hence my engine burnt up another coil. I know nothing about the engine in this car and I have a feeling the guys at mazda don't know **** either, So if anyone has good knowledge of the wankel please give my some advise. There is a underlining problem to the car that is making it burn up the coils If anyone if familiar with this issue please get back to me asap. Or Ill be spending another 500$ for coils that will just get burnt up.

replace the wires and plugs, there must be a short somewhere causing the coil to overheat.

Yeah this probably the reason. Is there anything else that could be causing the coils to overheat?
