Exclamation Problem with my car! =(

Up until a month or so ago I have been having a problem with my rx8. Mainly been happening when it's been hot out. Now I live in washington state which it doesn't get that hot here been round 80-90 degree weather. Anyways...everytime I remotely rev out my car the car makes this loud rattly noise with what feels like power loss. It will accelerate so slowly when trying to rev it up and then shifts a little bit harder than usual @ 4000rpm. It is weird...plus it idles so rough at 1000rpms. While my car is going it makes a weird noise. Can't exactly explain it but does anyone know what could it be?? I know of the new recall and I am afraid of it being that...I plan on taking it in but I am afraid when I go there the problem will not exsist for them but I will anyway just want to know what you guys might think it could be.

You are having the EXACT same problem as I am. My engine is being replaced this week. The compression has shot completly out. If you have any mods you might want to remove them for now.

You have an automatic, correct? The usual fix for power loss is a new engine.

One more question...I had called my local Mazda dealer to ask them about the recall and they were like we don't know too much information yet. It's sad he said because the general public know more about it then they do so wait for a letter confirmation on the recall to bring your vehicle in. So if I were to bring my car in are they goin to know it might be a possibility that it could be the recall deal?
