ok so when i first bought my car last year i wanted an rx8. but i coudlnt find any in my price range so i ended up with an 05 mustang which i love to death and ive yet to have any problems with it. so one of my friends is possibly getting an 04 rx8 wit 102,000 miles on it and had the engine replaced around 60,000(which seems like a pretty common deal with rx8s) and he was originally going to buy my car but i changed my mind. he said if he gets the rx8 he would much rather have my car just cuz he loves mustangs and i love rx8's so we would trade em. now after reading about all the problems and recalls and such wit rx8's im kinda hesitant to go through with it. i just want some advice and opinions on the car and what i should do. i appreciate it!!

Its a car just take care of it , its not goimg yo be your mustang, but you will feel a better attachment with the car due to how scarce it is. If all the ecu flashes have been done and the oil changes were done then you should have no problems. Just take care if it.

I personally wouldn't get an '04. I spent a lot of time looking around the forum (about 7 years or so). A lot of the problems in the troubleshooting sub-forum are from '04s. If you are set on the RX-8, try finding a used '05. First year models are usually more buggy than subsequent years. I got my 05 with 37,000 miles for $10,900, so good deals can be found.

Either way, I would take an RX-8 over a Mustang any day. But that's just me. It is my dream car after all.
