Possible to change the color of the gauges in the dash... factory?

Heya!

A friend of mine swears a while back that when the RX8's first came out, that someone was showing it off to them - and you could change the color of the interior gauges... From say Red to Green, To yellow, etc... Much like the 05 Mustangs can do with the upgrade package.

Is there any truth to this?

This is one thing I wouldn't change about the car... the gauges look awesome day or night.

maybe you should try and take out the gauge cluster and change the bulbs or LED's.

I don't recommended doing this, but hey its your car.

I just asked the dealer the same question. The parts person thought that is should be possible but he was unable to determine if the lights were colored by a cover, by dye or if they were LEDs.

Some more information about possibly changing the lights can be found

https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-interior-audio-electronics-24/can-you-change-dash-light-backgroung-color-70057/

It is not definitive but it gets us started in some direction.

My friend just got an 8 and his turn signal lights and some other warning lights are different colors than on my 8. I thought it was really weird. They're both '04s.

The RX-8 has what you call an EL pannle, this can't be changed. What we have is something like a glowing board. you can't just change it with LED.
