Hey Congratulations!!!!!
I am so happy that they were able to diagnose your car, and fingers crossed for getting it back soon
Best of luck, and think of how great it will drive when it is fixed.

Okay shes back on the road and firing on all cylinders :D
It was the coils in the end, replaced all of them and shes running better than she ever has. Drove her for the first time tonight and it was a real pleasure up the M40
Now there is a concerning factor that when I topped up the oil tonight there was some throth on the dipstick and around the oil filler. With normal engines this usually spells big trouble as the gasket between the water jacket and the head would normally have gone....is it normal on rotary engines?
She hasnt really been started for a while, sitting dorment so dunno if that would casue it?

Hey Neil - Yeah the frothing thing is normal in the renesis due to poor venting of water vapor. Don't worry about it. My car did it for years to little negative effect until I had the vent system repaired. Just drive and enjoy the car . It has to be running a lot better for you right? Have fun. Drive the car. Drop us a line back about how great it is when you have some fun stuff to talk about . - H

I get a bit of a problem with steamy windows which I figured was because of how cold it is now and how close I am to the window compared to normal cars.
I also have a problem with a stupidly hot footwell from where the heater is blowing heat to the feet.

RX8 cylinder 1 misfire and evap code
It started with a blinking check engine at high rpms! Then a few days later lack of power and funny engine and exhaust noises. I hooked it up to a cpu and found a misfire in cylinder 1 code and an emissions evaporation code! I thankfully found my way to this site and in 1hr 15min after popping the hood had removed, replaced all 4 ignition coils put everything back together! AND ZOOM ZOOM! FIXED! THANK YOU! THIS CLUB ROCKS! By the way 3 of the 4 coils look burnt on the bottom!!!!

He did, and he was successful.
He identified the problem, replaced the ignition coils, and found out that it fixed his problem.
I recommend that we give this newbie a box of cookies, as he does the internets way better that the last 20 or so newbies in the past two weeks!

I didn't think about which thread I was attaching it 2. My bad. Now it idles a little rough when its warm, nothing too bad. I will replace the spark plugs, as they may have been fouled because of the fried coils! Might as well do the wires too while I'm in there again!
