Please Read this MPG thread. Good, bad, otherwise, and post. Correlation?
I've read a million posts on MPG for the 8. I saw one post where the guy posted great MPG, and only 1 quart of oil used in a bunch of miles.
Please post if you get bad (12-14), ok (15-18), or good (19-23), or GREAT (24+) MPG and also how much oil you use. How often do you go through a quart of oil.
I am curious if there is a correlation between seals, MPG, and oil usage.
I get 17-19 (ok-good) around town, with about 23 HWY doing 75. I used a quart of oil by my 1500 mile mark.

I get 13 miles to the gallon never more. I used 1 qt of oil in 1500 miles. I am a little disappointed in the gas usage as most others seem to get better. I have 3000 miles on the car now.

- Averaging 16 mpg city, 22 Hwy (fairly agressive driving)
- Consumed 2 quarts in between 3 oil changes (every 2500 miles)
- 9800 miles total, and running stronger than ever :D

Um, you forgot...
MT v AT (VERY IMPORTANT)
UK v US (gallons are different sizes)
Octane rating (makes a LOT of different to mine when I put Optimax or Ultimate in.)
For the record I get over 20+ to UK gal consistently on long journeys, and I use a litre of oil every 3000 miles or so. I use the range of the engine, so I neither granny shift nor screw it, something in between.
On a track day I got 9.5mpg and used a litre of oil in 100 miles.

6MT, 1700 miles, just topped up the oil with 1/3 quart. Every tank has been right around 19.5 w/Mobil/Exxon 91. No extended highway trips yet, but I expect near mid 20's

1600 miles w/ no added oil needed yet
14-14.5 mpg about 80% city/20% freeway. Granny driving mixed with a little aggressive driving. Granny being shifting before 4K rpm, more aggressive shifting at 5-7.5K rpm.
15-15.5 mpg about 80% city/20% freeway. Granny driving.
17-19 mpg 60% freeway/40% city. Granny Driving.
I use Shell 91 vPower.

With 24,000 miles on the Odo, she averages 22.3 MPG, and since I change my oil every 2,500 miles, there is no oil added or needed inbetween changes. 85% Highway, using Shell or Texaco 87 octane, M Flash.

(And, will also stop your engine melting as a bonus.)
