Pissed Off: Rx8 Problems.

okay. to kick off the situation. around August-September?
when i bought this vehicle last year, it was brand new, from Norco Mazda *SoCal*. During the first two weeks, I experienced some CRITICAL issues: First * my car stalled during idle, it was in P!* and it wouldn't start until a while after. Second to Fifth issue were all the same, just different locations. And by this time, I was already seeking attention from Norco and Super Mazda. They said they "could not duplicate the problem" so i was like okay, whatever during that time there was a RECALL too, so i did all that. So, after all that, maybe another 2 weeks has gone by, i was driving *in motion*, my car STALLED! HOLY CRAP (i did not know ATs can stall in Drive). This time was horrifying, i was in busy intersection, stuck in traffic. So i turned on my Emergency Lights, *horns here and there* i called mazda road side assistance, they told me some crap that did not help at all. after that i finally got the car to start, i drove it to the nearest neighborhood. By the time i parked my car, i realized several severe problems, such as: CD player went dead, my Keyless Entry did not work, my interior lights didnt work. basically it was like if you unplugged keyboard, mouse, monitor, and speakers to your computer. Ironically, i drove home, i was so surprised that i actually made it home, so then the next day i contacted mazda corp. and they definitely did not help, they just transfered me everywhere and made me wait. Left with no choice, i drove it back down to Norco. blablabla.. they come back to me saying.. oh there were problems with your spark plugs and this and that. i didnt clearly hear. but basically whatever was wrong. was the car had DEFECT parts and ITS ALL GOOD NOW. Days go by, Weeks go by, Months go by, everything seemed good. until TODAY.. i was coming out of my friends house with my girlfriend, i felt weird acceleration with my car, and i thought okay.. maybe a piece of mind.. then i got to red light. waited.... *turns green* i go... ^ the problem starts here ^. it felt like for a second i can accelerate for another i cant. (like a stall for manual transmission, but constantly and car does not turn off) then i pulled over to the side and checked my dash and see the battery light and engine light on. i was like WTF. so i turnd off my car and waited 5 mins. and turned it back on *or at least tried*. it obviously didnt work, it was the *eeek eeek eeek* sound when you try starting and it doesnt start. then i called up my buddies that were in the area *i was just at his house* so they came down, and we decided to put my car in N and push it. so i was in my car while my buddies pushed the car. and eventually they got tired cuz it was 100+ degrees outside. so i was like forget it. let me try starting the car.. wow guess what?.. it worked... so i drove it into the nearest SAFE SPOT. and waited for 2 damn hours for them to tow it away. and since by the time they towed it , it was too late, all the dealerships were closed. so i have to wait till tomorrow and see what the hell is going to happen. oh and did i mention. i missed class today. cuz of that... sigh.. someone please help me. leave me some suggestions or what not.. or maybe you know whats up... or what i can do... please
anyhow. i am going to try to get rid of this car.
im sorry but i am sick of my 8
i love the car, (*when its functioning accordingly*) i just cant stand it anymore
i mean.. what if that happened while i was on the freeway... anyways..
please help me
i really need your help
thanks for taking your time to read my longass very bad summary of what happened

Dude its ok slow down lol.

OK all jokes aside you have a AT , do you rev it up and drive in sport mode every day?
Well you should rev your car up to about 6k every other day. Dont baby her. That will only lead to carb build up. Also check out the DIY mod section on here see the thread about the coolent hose not running through the Tb any more this has helped keep my car cool where I live out in Vegas.

Next thing, some people do but I dont, call Mazda of North America. I call my dealer and ask for the service manager. Be cool but be firm with them and let them know you dont like whats going on. This will help you how? they get to know you by name and you will work with 1 person that knows whats going on with your car. Not 3 people all trying to tell you 3 different things.

Have you had your engine recalled?
How many miles are on your car?
How many oil coolers do you have?
This will help us help you with your issues.
Good luck!
-Gil

I don't mean to diss you or be disrespectful, but you might want to put a little more effort into knowing/understanding your car's trouble. I mean, if the dealer is actually telling you what they found, pay attention dude

It could be a lot of thing, but "stalling at idle" and "crank no start" are things we've seen before on this forum, I'm sure you'll find a bunch of related threads that could help you navigate thru this issue.

Sounds like a simple dying battery or poor ground to me.

If the battery has a bad cell (or enough of them) then it cannot be charged properly, therefore the car will not run whether it's running or not.

The car is rejecting its own transmission. Try those drugs they give people after transplant surgery.

That is false. Unless you have an absurdly high electrical load the alternator is providing all the electrical power to the car while the motor is running. You could start the car and take the battery out and it would be just fine.

^ wtf?

I had the same problems with mine by the way. I had a parasetic leak on my battery. That was fixed no problem.

As far as the car stalling at idle, that's happend to me before, I got a few flashses when I took mine in 2-3 times and it still happens.

I have a feeling it's a heat related issue because my car runs great when I start it up, and the warmer the weather the more severe the "symptons" are, and sometimes it'll start doing it after running for an hour or so (road trip) and when I get back into town it'll be doing it but the weather won't be that hot. You said you had this and it was 100 degree's outside, so thats why I think you have the same thing as me. Anytime the weather is over 90-95 degree's my car just goes nuts.

Have them take a look at the cooling or something, I'm taking mine in this week with recorded sound of the noise my engine makes, hopefully I'll get better feedback, and can give you some advice to tell the stealership if you decide to keep the car (it's not like the problem is unfixable...I don't know why you'd just trash the car after having the problem 1 time and then have the same thing again months down the road, I've had it twice as bad as you and I'm keeping it =O)
