Ok, I've purchased a spare tire mounting kit. I also found the instructions to mount it here on the forums. Problem is I still can't figure out how the heck the things supposed to go in there. The instructions have small partial drawings, but it isn't helping me.

So, is there anybody out there with a digi cam that would be willing to take some pictures of the spare tire kit mounted in the trunk. One with an overall pic and then some of where the brackets connect. It may be helpful to take the spare tire off if it would give a clearer pic of the mounting bar. I think with some actual pictures I can figure it out.

BTW: I've searched the forums for some but can't find any good ones that show where the bar is mounted. If they already exist please point me in the right direction.

Here ya go. The overall pic is a composite. Couldn't get far enough back without opening my garage door and it's cold outside. Sorry, but removing the tire is something I will only do if and when I get a flat. Installation should be pretty straighforward. I didn't install mine so I can't provide any insight into the process.

can you tell me what and how many parts there are to the kit other than the spare tire and the bar? I seem to have not received them.

 

The kit includes the tire, the tire-mounting bar, 4 bolts (2 per side) for attaching the bar to the sides of the trunk, 1 bolt for attaching the tire to the bar, a short piece of chain, a pad for installation between the tire and the upper side of the trunk, a vinyl cover for the tire and installation and use instructions. I will look for the instructions and post them if I can find them.

Here is a LINKto the full instructions. The part most sellers forget to remove is #2 bracket "A" . They think it's part of the car when is fact it's not. That happened to me when I bought one off this board. The thing that sucks is you can't buy them alone.
