I wonder if the 50/50 weight ratio rating inluded the spare....

I don't see any reason to get the spare tire kit. If I want a spare tire I'll just buy a wheel and tire and lay it in the back. The kit doesn't seem to save space or fit the wheel somewhere it couldn't get without the kit. Is there something I'm missing?

I think it's a 17". It's for sale if anyone wants it. I think it was a $400 option. I'll let it go for half that.

 

I think I read somewhere that the weight ratio does NOT include the spare.

The kit allows the tire to be mounted up off the trunk floor against the top of the trunk. I doubt you could do this without the kit.

Anyway, I'd rather have the spare tire and kit than not have it, but I wouldn't go so far as to say it's worth the cost.

I would keep it in the garage. Call somebody to pick me up and change the tire.

 

Take a pic of it in the car.. I wonder how much space it eats up.

 

I spent a half hour ripping it out!!! It doesn't take up much room, I thinkk there is a thread that shows it mounted.

I should say that I doubt you could EASILY do this without the kit.

I meant that it's not worth the cost THAT I PAID (about $450 with the tire)
