Picking up my new RX8 tonight!!!
Hi All,
This is my first post, haven't been on the board too long, mostly doing research and reading up on the great information available.
I currently have an 05 S2000 which I love, its been a great car to own and a blast to drive. But now I also have a baby on the way and it was time to move on to something more "practical". I've always thought the RX8 would be the car for me if a 2 seater no longer made sense. It's a pure sports car and should offer the driving enjoyment I'm looking for. I don't get hung up on the spec sheets and "low" power numbers. I value the overall driving experience than outright speed.
It's an 09 Sparkling Black Touring with the premium package. I'm taking delivery today
I'm so excited and eager to get out of work!! Hopefully will post pics later when I bring it home.
I'm looking forward to being part of this community.
Did I mentioned how excited I am???

congratulations Banijejo, you've made a great decision! (plus you picked the fastest color)
Can't wait to see pics of the car once you have it home.
any pix of the S2000?
are you trading it in?

I commend you on taking time to research the vehicle and doing your 'homework'.
If you need anything, just let us know.
now how bout them pix?
One last thing: you should go into your user settings and update your profile to show your location. (even if you just put in the state) certain areas are full of forum members and have local meets / events you can attend.

gorgeous.
too bad I would never fit in one.
Please tell me you're not actually trading that in.
I would imagine you could sell it private party for much more

Thanks everyone. And yes the S is being traded in
I put it up for sale last month and no takers since. I know I could have waited longer for the right buyer but right now the 09 inventory is running low, this one is exactly what I was looking for and got a good discount on it. I just had to take different things into consideration and although ideally I should have sold it first I decided I should buy this one now. I did get lowballed on the trade in value but is was not THAT bad actually.
2 hours to go!!

Your S2000 looks EXACTLY how my '04 AP2 looked before I started modding it. I miss that car sometimes!
Welcome to the club.....and like me.....I think you have an addiction to high-revving motors lol.
My S2000 used to spin to 9000 rpm - AP2 2.2L engine, BC Cams, Toda Valvetrain kit, TWM 50mm ITBs, Hondata S2000 K-Pro tuned by Church Automotive, Alaniz re-worked head - port and polished.
My Miata used to spin to 8500 rpm - 1.6L Flyin' Miata re-worked crate engine from Mazda, Fuji Racing 45mm ITBs, RS Aizawa dual-feed fuel rail, Wiseco 11.0:1 pistons, Integral Stage 2 Camshafts, Carrillo rods, ARP hardware, Megasquirt PNP, and more.
Yeah.....I love rotaries. I've had my share of fun cars and I will ALWAYS be an enthusiast. However......valve-to-piston contact is a thing of the past! Rod ratios....what's that lol.
Rotaries spin SOOOOO freely even more so than my S2000 which screamed like a banshee out of hell. I definitely have a lack of torque, but Miata and S2000 were all torqueless wonders too.

Please tell us that you live in a part of Mass. that doesn't use road salt. The car is too nice to ever see salty snow-slush...keep it warm inside for the winter. Great looking 8...Enjoy.
