TN Parking brake issue

Ok so i am at work and i am unable to search or post with our firewall so i searched a little on my phone but just got pissed waiting on it to open on the phone so i am sorry if this has already been answered but yesterday i had to lock the brakes up pretty hard and the emergency brake light came on. After about five or so seconds it went off so i thought nothing about it. Well this morning it came on again while i was driving normally. This time it took longer to go off . i played with the e.brake while it was on pulling it up and them putting it down and nothing helped. it did not feel like the brakes were engaged while the light was on. Has anyone ever heard or seen this happen?
