Paint or not to Paint...

Currently I have a black RX8 that has about 100,000 kms and the paint is starting to show its age. A Respray is in order, but I am debating a complete change of color. I was debating a color like this:

Any opinions?

If you've got the money to do it right that paint would look great on the 8.

See my car is relatively stock as well so I am worried that it might look awkward. If it helps I also have the saddle/black leather combo.

Any color is possible if you have a good paint guy. It's a nice color, but a little to flashy for me.

Sunburst orange? eh... there is an Eclipse down the road from me with that color, I don't like it. It's your car though.

I think that would look really slick with a pearlcoat finish. But again it's you're car. I say go for it and then send us the pics!

It's a cool color, tho I don't know that I'd ever pick it. But if you like the color and have a good shop do it, it should look great.

& that little truck is hawt!

Looks sorta like the orange on the supra in the fast and the furious. I wouldnt go with it though. Maybe a dark blue so you wouldnt have to bother repainting the inside pieces too.

if you want a new color then by all means spray away but if the paint is just dull then consider getting it professionally polished by a competent detailer.

You are going to repaint a black car orange? What price range are you looking at? I should think, to do it right, you would virtually have to disassemble the car to do the door jambs and engine bay. Most of the time, with a respray, you don't repaint those areas as they get much less wear. If you pop your hood to have the black inside or door jamb lines or the metal behind the lights, it won't look top notch. The price involved gets pretty high.

I would do it if I had the money, and it's gonna take a god chunck of change. Complete color change with jams and under hood and trunk lid is a lot. I might consider going a little bit darker in that color. As to not be too loud. darker would eminate a bit more class/taste and not be so ricey on the car. But do what you want and enjoy. Be sure to post pic's of the end result.

Kinda like this,,,

compared to this,,,,

Orange belongs on oranges.
