P0171 too lean bank 1
So I took off the UIM and replaced all 6mm vacuum lines. I put everything back together. And I still have the same issue. Misfire on cylinder 1. The car is backfiring and a few were very loud.
It seems that this cylinder 1 is the issue. What will cause these misfires? Could the cold air intake make an issue?
Car has new coils, wires, plugs
Issue happens with or without the cat attached.
Vacuum lines changed.
New fuel
ESS cleaned.
What should I look for next?

2) Where did you acquire these "new" coils, wires, and plugs? What brand are they? Are you certain they are genuine?
3) Catalytic wont have any influence on your symptom. Your symptom is being caused by something upstream from the CAT.
4) Which lines exactly? Did you make sure they connected properly? Do you have lower manifold service ports capped off and caps not cracked, damaged, or missing? (Assuming you haven't had the service bulletin done to revise your oil fill neck breather)
5) New MAF? See question 2; from where did you source it and how are you certain its the correct one and a genuine product.
Sorry about that I assumed it was a continuation of the thread. I didn't realize that posted twice. I'd have to see what the coils are. A friend who had an 8 purchased them. I know they are all off rock auto and listed as OEM as far as I know
Ports are capped, not cracked and all vacuum lines were done one at a time to ensure no mistakes.
Not sure on the oil neck breather. There is a catch can installed between the neck and air intake port.
MAF is denzo 1976020.

Update: well I think I finally got my answer. I took a compression check on the leading spark plugs. Front looks good I have zero compression in the back. Looks like there is my issue. I am going to look for a thread on here on how to remove the engine. How difficult is it to rebuild these engines? Should I just look for a crate engine or something
It's been asked many times. Do not rebuild your engine, especially if it's down to 0 on one rotor. Get a known good rebuilt from someone who knows what they're doing like rotary resurrection.
Thanks...after looking at it I think I'll do just that. This rebuild looks like it's going to be different than anything I've done and a little complicated. It's a little upsetting because I love the car and I was just about ready to have everything done including having it wrapped.
What companies do you guys recommend... I know you mentioned you one above.
Am I throwing away money for a used 50k mileage engine?

There's a list of good rebuilders in a thread here somewhere.
I wouldn't buy a used rotary unless it was the price of a blown rotary or had proof of compression. Too much of a gamble.

Thanks for the advice, I will search for rebuilders. Thanks to admin for creating the search option.
