Ouch it hurt !
After reading what I just typed it seem obvious that I should have seen what was coming and managed to have avoided it. Well I didn't, so be warned!
It's amazing what impact a relatively small lump of concrete can make when it falls off the back of one of those yard maintenance trailers and sneaks it's way under your car when travelling at a meagre 25-30mph. Estimate from the dealer is in the region of $2500. The sum total of replacing the oil sump, front cross member and several other suspension and chassis brackets, along with the fuel tank guard.
In short, beware of what appears to be relatively small objects at very short range!

hehe, well... It was late at night and I saw this recycling bin infront of me so I swerved to avoid it and to my surprise I swerved right into a small tree branch which was perfectly placed to where someone would swerve which seem to have hit the front left corner under the car. From what I see there is no damage. Also, I have hit one speed bump. oops! Should I be worried?

I hit a possum the other night. On a back road, came up on a 30 mph curve and luckily didn't push the car. Never had a chance. He ran out when I was in the middle of the turn, thump. Was hoping I killed him instantly. Don't see any visible damage. Fingers crossed.

Some times you just can't avoid it.
Once I was driving in bumper-to-bumper traffic in Chicago moving at about 70mph. I was driving too close the car in front of me. We all were. I didnt see a piece of shredded tire that was in the road. It got caught up under my car. Did some damage to the front spoiler and finally lodged itself in the wheel well. Messed the well cover pretty good. But nothing like the damage yours suffered.
Sorry man.

On to topic of underbody damage, I was wondering if anyone has had any problems with snow above the ground clearance line. We had 6" on the ground and plows hadn't touched it when I drove to work this morning. I tried to keep my tires in the tire tracks from the cars in front of me, but I could hear the loose snow between the tracks scraping against the underbody. It didn't sound extremely harsh or anything, but there was definitely contact on numerous occasions.

I was going down I-40 about 75 MPH in the fast lane. A large car in front of me straddled a fourth of a log that had been split with the round side facing oncoming traffic. I couldn't have straddled it so I dodged it with some quick steering. The Honda Civic behind me tried the same but didn't clear it. Their right front tire hit it dead on, followed by a Hub cap shooting off into the other lanes and then I saw it pull off to the side of the road leaning to one side. There was obviously alot of damage. :-( But at least I missed it.
