Opinion on 06 White Shinka AT
Beenn looking at getting a used RX-8 for my wife in the next month. Keep seeing this White 06 Shinka AT on Autotrader. Checked price against KBB and seems to be priced right. My question is did they make a Shinka in an AT??? Should I call a dealer and check the VIN??

Check the VIN regardless. Price seems a little high, considering Shinka isn't supposed to carry a price difference from the standard. Might be different in your area, I don't know.
Shinka was only a trim option in the 06 models. You could select whichever transmission, then select Shinka to get the interior/exterior changes. I'd compare the VIN to the Shinka production list, however. If the search function was working, I'd help you out =\
I'll see if I can post the PDF later tonight.

Do yourself a favor and check CraigsList. You can find better deals and can probably negotiate a better deal.
Also, check eBay. There are two huge eBay only dealers in Texas that have multiple RX-8's in great condition. You can probably check out the vehicles first hand and test drive them.

Yes, totally. You can see the non-power driver's seat. I would skip this one. They redid the console with CF and who knows what else they did. The white leather recovered seats are gross.
And worst - it is WAY overpriced for 06 Touring.
I personally would skip any 8 AT and buy a different car. And if you really want an AT get an 07 with higher HP engine.

Beware of running the VIN too though. I recommend doing it to get a history on the car. But when I entered my VIN in the system, mine came back as 05 RX-8 Base/Shinka. I later discovered there was nothing shinka about my car.

I have an 04 GT 6MT this would be for my wife who would need an AT... I thought the 06+ AT models had the 6port motor and 6 spd tranny...

I like two-tone interiors. My 8 has the red/black interior. I just think bright white leather is a bit Cadillac circa the 70s or something along those lines.
I'd search a bit longer. Have you checked Craigslist and Cars.com?

I stand corrected after looking. 2006 ATs and on are the 6 speed AT with the upgraded 6-port 212HP engines. So you're good to go on a 2006.
