after many many many months of agony and stresss i got my warranty back!
finally talked to regional manager and did a bit of investigating of myself when i got the car back. took a couple of pictures and did a bit of studying the law. not just the mahgnuson moss act but there is lot more to it then that to get a warranty back. Legal Advices just tells you if there is a case but doesnt telly ou all important info that you really do need. but either way got my warranty back and pretty excited. cant wait. FINALLY.

im glad i waited it out and did some talkin with some suits and ties. =]

damnnnn im too happpy!!! I got my warranty back.WOOOHOO....the end.

Note: By "replacing cheap lug nuts" Mazda will void your warranty. Just kidding, I think.

Hey glad to hear that you got your 8's warranty back. Could you go into more specific details about how EXACTLY you got it back?

to be EXACTLY specific, is when the first time they said my engine will not be covered by warranty i flipped, i tried everythingggg to get it back.. talk to managers service adivsors, even sales managers...... they all did nothing but gimme the run around on shyt....

so the first month my car was in the Mazda dealer i was tryin to find out some legal advicess on what my options are and if i have a case. they just told me very small detail about why it would be a case.[[stubborn of me]]. and i decided i dont wanna spend money on them to get it back.. i felt that i can get it back my self if i was PERSISTENTT!

also gave up during the mid, and was gna jus swap my engine out from somewone i knew.... gave up on that too since i was a bit short on cash and he was a bit backed upw ith vehicles at his shop... =/

so cut to the chase..... i got the Phone number to the SERVICE REGIONAL MANAGER from one of the AWESOME Service Adivsor from the Mazda[the only cool one there seriously..].... he knew i was gettin fuckkkked over and felt bad... so he was pretty 'D.L.' about it and tried to avoid being a middle man...of course my mouth was shut.... i LITERALY called this dude [regional]about 100+ times within the past 4 months...was tryin to avoid harrassing him... & thought i was being abit to crazy but realized **** it im gettin that shyt back. but just last week on thursday HE ANSWERED!!!!!!!!!

After 4 Super Long months... i was excited and nervous but kept my cool, talked to him tellin him that my warranty was voided, he asked me what dealer was voiding it and why. i told him bc of my intake. he said : is it after market?? and i was like yes sir. then he was a bit iffy... so he said wheres my car right now? i said my car is at my house now... so he told em to wait.....[like 30 mins].... he got back on the fone asking my VIN# and make model year the whole nine~ he told me he called Mazda [where my car was voided] and was getting emailed pics of the car.

he told me he'll call me back enxt day..... but for some reason i doubted he would cal back but he DID. Early as helll too. he said my engine bay was a messs[vaccuuum line here and there]..... and he looked at my history with my services with mazda and saw i was up to date on my services. he then told me i never got a recall done on my car and that it was recomended.
but after thatttttt. he told me he talked with mazda north americas Customer SPECIALISTS and they reopened my warranty...... he then said which dealer to go to.

i went to the dealer he appointed me too and went to talk to the service manager and he told me that the manger form that dealer i was at was fired from here. i asked wht he'd do????? he responded "jsut think what he did to you, but times it by a few"..... so pretty much this fukin GUY at that othe rdealer was a fukin no good service manager....im pretty sure there was more to it then that..

but yup thats all.

Point: ALWAYS be PERSISTENT.... nop matter how long it takes. cuhz you just never know.

Wow, 8 pages and 3 months to do what people recommended to you on page 1... glad it finally worked out, though.

Oh, and isn't the stock intake already a CAI?

i dotn remember anyone saying to talk top Regional manager........ unless you point it out for me.... but if your talking about me CALLING Mazda north America, i did, but they wont listen to me, who am i to them.. but with a regional manager to call them thats a totally different story. and also you cant contact the Customer Specialist unless you're from mazda.....

and no, stocks not a cai.

It's certainly not an aftermarket CAI, but my understanding (from reading these forums) is the stock intake already pulls cool air from behind the front bumper, while most of the aftermarket systems draw air from the engine bay. Can anyone else verify this?

^ well yea we do have a front air damn that directs cool air through the front but it really isnt considered as a cold air since its blocked off by a VERY restricted airfilter and also a resonator on the stock intake also... but if you wanna think of it as "Cold Air" since theres cold air being delivered form the fornt dam then, You can call it that too... but no matter what its still stock. =]

Restrictive air filter is why a lot of people recommend the K&N drop in air filter only. The stock system is built very well already, otherwise there would be bigger (or any) horsepower gains. Even if it is 'stock', I don't see a reason to spend money just for the sake of saying 'hey look, I spent money!'.

Huh? That thing that traps heat in the engine bay?

All of that said, this thread should be notice that the Magnuson-Moss act is not a free-pass to modify your car. The only way it works in your benefit is AFTER you have already paid full price at a Dealer on a service that should have been covered by warranty. It is of NO help to you unitl after you have already paid, in this case, $7800. At that point you can hire a lawyer and require them to prove that your intake caused the problem. After that, you are 'likely"
to get your money back.

so after the long waits and talks to higher people, and them tellin me my warranty is good to go, now it turns out MNAO calls me up personally telling me they are DENYING my warranty AGAIN, no questions asked . After receiving my warranty back it seems like MNAO doesnt think i should be allowed to get my warranty back because of the mod and the pictures thats sent out al over Mazda Corp. and dealershits.

this is it . im geting rid of it. i had enough with this piece of ****. ive put up with too much shyt and to buy a new motor from Mazda is ridiculous.

without going through Lawyers and stuff, what is the best thing to do right now...

any suggestions?? any help will help right now.....

Find a lawyer, and see if you can get a real, legitimate case on em. Most billion dollar companies will go belly up, just because what you want, will be less expensive than lawyer fees. Just talk to a lawyer, give him every detail, and see if you will have a good case.

But wow...what a bunch of dicks. Sorry you have to keep going through this cra[
