Ok, a NEW oil post: Amsoil question
Ok, a NEW oil post: Amsoil question
Ok, after two days as a newbie on here I've researched the site quite throroughly (what great stuff!!) and I see that apparently Synthetic oil is fine for the rotary engine, so this question: does anyone have experience with Amsoil in their cars? I've used in the last 6 cars we've had with nary a problem. If synth is fine, great!! But I know Amsoil breaks down less than 1/2 any other brand. Not trying to sell anything, just wanting to know if anyone is using it...
Thanks again for any input!!

It's interesting that you ask about Amsoil. After reading gobs of info here and keeping up with RG's oil blog. I started to educate myself a little more in regards to oils and specifically synthetics.
I came across this article testing Amsoil and others. The site does appear to endorse Amsoil and has many ads so take that into consideration. It is a little dated also so not sure what current data would unveil. But still thought I'd pass it along. http://www.worldsbestoil.ca/dyno-test.php

Amsoils oils are ok, just don't believe all the hype about 15,000+ changes. Amsoil won't come to your rescue if you lose an engine due to too long an OCI...even though all their crazy webpages say it'll be fine.
The 0w-30 Series 2000 is a pretty nice formulation.
And ya, read RG's thread
