Angry Ok, This is getting RIDICULOUS!!!

AHHH! I could ******* scream!!
So i got my car back from the shop this past wednesday with a new tranny and clutch, and i thought that the troubles would be over for a while... well i was WRONG!
I left my car in a parking garage over night on saturday, and went to go pick it up yesterday and the damn thing wouldnt start. As far as I could tell the battery was fine, cause all of the gauges and instrument lights came on and the starter was trying really hard to turn the engine over.. but nothing. I thought that maybe it was because i was on empty so I got 2 gallons of gas in a little tank and put it in the Rx, but it didnt help anything. Still just would not kick on. No matter what I tried it would NOT start.. i could tell it got close a few times, but no cigar.
I called the shop and told them about what was going on, and im waiting for them to come up with something and give me a call back. It so pathetic and ridiculous how many problems Im having with a 50K mile, $20K car. Im literally THIS close to filing a suit and using the lemon law. This is so ******* retarded.

Comments? Feedback? Advice???

That's so frustrating. Is it flooded? Your car is the absolute opposite of mine, which over 2 years has been 99% trouble-free!

I thought so too, but why would it flood?? the conditions and situation just didnt make sence for it to have flooded.

But I tried to start it using traditional "flood recovery" techniques.. Was I doing it wrong? How do you recover from a flood in rotary?

If it is a 2004 and has never had the starter replaced, this could be the problem or at least part of the problem as well. Mine became hard to start, and I brought it in the the dealer, and they replaced the starter with the current starter that is being put into all rx8s. They told me that the original one in the 04s was not strong enough. I also replaced my battery at the same time. The original factory battery was only 300 cold cranking amps when brand new. Mazda now requires 340 or 380 ccas for the rx-8. I bought a 575 cca battery just to make sure. Hope all works out for you!

How long did it set at the shop? Did you drive it awhile after picking it up or just take it straight the garage and parked it? Dont get too excited it could be something minor.
My thoughts were you just didnt run it enough after it sat at the shop and maybe the battery is the old one and didnt fully juice back to spec and/or it was short trip from shop to parking garage and car didnt warm up properly before being parked and it flooded. Take a deeeep breath, dont freak just yet.

Either way good luck.

It was at the shop for roughly 3 weeks. I had been driving it daily since wednesday, i didnt park it in the garage until saturday night. I highly doubt that its the battery, or that its flooded. Just doesnt feel like either of those two...

Im dropping my keys off at the shop now, hopefully they will be able to figure something out with it. I dont know how they plan on getting it out of there, a tow truck will not fit in the 8' max garage.

its friggin flooded, and its your fault , and u kno what, mazda will STILL fix it for FREE. you kno how mucht hat starter costs? how bout 4 plugs? yeah a **** ton. plus the labor to install both the plugs and the starter. its like a 500 dollar bill, easily. and itll be done for free....

u cause the problem and mazda pays the bill. why are u so mad?

Stop and think. Some ppl may not be very savvy when it comes to these rotary engines. Be calm and polite, he's mad bc this is a huge incovieniance for him.....and it just came out of the shop, so he wasn't sure if it was even related to the previous problems.

If you're having that many problems...might I suggest fixing it up as well as possible and selling it?

No car is worth keeping around if it makes you want to tear your hair out...

THANK YOU... at least one person on this forum understands my frustration. Im not mad at Mazda because I flooded my own engine.. Hell, I dont even know if thats what the problem is.. i dont THINK it is, but it might be.. all I know is I just got my car back from a 3 week stint in the shop and 3 days later it wont start. thus my frustration.

I love my Rx8. Im not complaining about the Rx8 or calling it a piece of ****. If I didnt like my car I would have given it back to the dealership a month ago when the tranny problems popped up.

People just get a little aggravated when people come on the forum and complain about their flooded engines when it appears they haven't done their homework on owning an RX-8.

We ALL need to understand that there will always be new owners whom are not familiar with this car and it's peculiarities. Flaming someone who does not understand simply bc you're tired of hearing/seeing these questions shows your lack of patience and immaturity. Perhaps, instead of posting a mean comment you may simply get out of the thread...........
