oil questions

so, i got my oil changed today and i think the guys that did it used synthetic

1) is this ok? or should i get it changed again and use regular?
2) do i need to only use synthetic to top off my oil now? (i have a brand new, unopened bottle of 5W20 (regular) oil in my car for that purpose)

thanks in advance

I think you might want to find out for sure what type of oil they used from the people who changed it before you do anything. Doesn't sound like a dealer did it. Man, I would NEVER let some quick-lube place touch my car. Change it yourself and you will always know what is going in. It is a pretty simple job.

What price did they charge you? if it was 50-60 dollar range then it's prob. synthetic.
if it's in the 20-35 range then no.

There shouldn't be anything wrong with using synthetic in your rotary. Do a search on the forum about this subject, it's been discussed to death. If you are still worried about it, just change it to regular at your next oil change. Personally I use Valvoline Synpower 5W-20 and I feel that the engine runs alot smoother than mineral-based oil.
