Nice. I checked out one at my dealership last sat while having oil change done. I like the brownish red leather. The rims are hot. Grey looks great too. 0% financing here. Likely some discountst too. Congrats!

New 40th ed. owner here from NH.
I'm curious what others have paid and how competitive dealers are with 8's.. I picked mine up for $28,549 ..total msrp was $34,349 with options, FST, SAT, STR, 2RP & 2AP
This seems to be right around invoice. Apparently Mazda dealers are willing to give a good price (in my area) if you walk in their prepared... I walked in with a list of every 40th ed. vehicle in stock within 100miles, which you can do off mazda.com, and a spreadsheet of expected invoice cost.
Hopefully that info is of use to some prospective rx-8 owner.
Anywho, very happy with my 8 (the 2RP, 2AP and the 40th ed. rims really set the 8's looks off) and the amount of information on this site.
I started off looking at the new bmw 128/135i's, yawn.. to much panache, i don't need my farts pumped outside by some technowidget...not to mention its impossible to get a deal.

congrats on the car man. i got the same one here...paid 30k canadian for it. it was a clearance of old stock. only driven 58km. i love it so much...working on gettin a real MS kit for it..just gotta collect some more money for it.

Ya cannot say enough but the 40th is a dam good lookin car
Glad someone put a good 40th thread up here. I got mine in April this year(09) MAZDA and dealer were giving great deals and could not resist. I drove an 09 Grand Touring, a used 40th from S Barber school that a local dealer picked up and was an automatic (what a waste) and found the one I was waiting for near Rochester.My hat is off to the dealer for the care and interest the salesman had in making sure this was the one that fit me. No better feeling on a Sunday morning after playing 18 to just hit it and go. I am in upstate NY with lots of good back and curvy roads and it just is a blast to drive!! I am trying to keep it simple and stock with some minor additions with oil cooler screens, rear grill pack, flaps and most likely to add exhaust well chromes and that should do it. Hope every owner enjoys as much as I enoy this gem. Don't forget there is only 1000 USA models so keep that in mind.
Here's to a head turning car!!! It will be sad to put it away when winter arrives then life becomes boring again

to possibly throw in a suggestion, maybe start a registry for teh 40AE. i started a registry on rx7club some couple years back for the 10AE. i'm a proud 88 10AE owner so i felt the list would be something good to have. we list the last 7 digits of our vins numerically and add our names and state. perhaps you guys would find it interesting to do the same. here is our list:
